Getting Started With Blogging My Journey In Life

I have always been planning to document the good, bad, sad, happy, and exciting moments of my life. But my friend "Lazy" always manages to take this thing out of mind. But the result of a 5-hour sleep (3pm until past dinner time) due to a very bad migraine only to find out after waking up that my head still aches very badly that I lost my appetite, which seldom happens anyway so I kinda savor the moment like it makes a difference in my forever plan to loss weight, and a dose of dolfenal keeps me awake until this wee hours. Might as well make the most of this can't-sleep and started blogging about my life.

Let me begin with a very interesting story. It's probably around almost midnight on Sunday or past midnight on Monday (I don't know which one is correct), I got scratched and/or bitten by a cat. It's an abandoned cat that happens to frequent our place as I feed it most of the times when I feed my dogs. But this "traitor" cat, despite fed by me or my hubby, had the nerve to attack me after I stepped on its tail. Ok, it's provoked so its behavior is kind of expected. But my dogs, even if I hit them or stepped on them unintentionally will just say ouch in their own language of course and step back. But this cat? The nerve!

Anyways, after the incident, I washed the injured leg, with the help of hubby, with water and soap multiple times and applied alcohol as what most medical pros would suggest. I didn't think of getting anti-rabies shot until after 22 hours when I washed the wounds again, applied alcohol and betadine and it hurts more than the skin test I got of some antibiotic in the hospital during previous my hospitalization. Also, youtube videos I watched of rabies victims who died from this disease contributed to my final decision to get vaccinated as soon as possible despite my fear of needles.

The following day, I went to out company's clinic and had my wounds checked by a company doctor. Unfortunately, she told me that she had to give me anti-tetanus shots. Yes,shots! 2 shots! I felt like I was going to have a fever from the thought of needles sticking into my skin. Aside from spending over a thousand pesos, I got to face my fear of needles again. The best part is, the 2nd shot hurts 100x more than the first that I had to do vocalize. Remember how singers vocalize before performing on stage? That's exactly what I did and it made my friends, doctor, and nurse laugh. The doctor even asked me if I wanted to see the needle. She must be kidding me. I didn't have the courage to look at it for fear that I might despite needles for the rest of my life.

The day after I got my anti-tetanus shots, which is earlier today, hubby and I went to city health's animal bite center for the anti-rabies vaccine that I can get for free. Why spend on thousands of pesos on anti-rabies vaccine when you can get it for free? So, there we went. Happily, I got 2 shots again on each arms after almost 3 hours of waiting. So I didn't get to work.

My next shots schedule will be on Monday. The 3rd is on Friday, and the last will be on the 30th of July. Therefore, that's 6 more shots to go. Just writing this and the thought of 6 more shots is giving me a headache again. So, I'll end this post with the this:

What To Do After Bitten By Animals

1. Wash the wound with water and soap. Repeat this step for 10 minutes.

2. Apply alcohol, then betadine.

3. It is best to cover the wounds with gauze/bandage and tape.

4. As soon as possible, go to your barangay's health center to get a free anti-tetanus shots and referral to get free anti-rabies vaccine (first 2 shots are free) from city health's animal bite center.

5. Go to city health's animal bite center as soon as you can for the free anti-rabies vaccines
